Capt. Timmy Arce, a native of Islamorada, is a true "Conch", as Keys natives are called. He has spent most of his life on the waters as a professional sport-fisherman, specializing in offshore angling as well as backcountry shallows fishing. This background allows for the use of local instinct combined with hard-learned local knowledge, in pursuit of great catches and all-around great times.
Although fishing is not an exact science and the cooperation of the fish is not guaranteed on any given day, the Challenger crew always promises a great adventure for every passenger.

The charter experience begins when the Challenger leaves the dock and heads a short distance offshore to the reef’s edge to catch live bait. The winter sailfish season keeps the boat closer to shore, while the summer months mean heading out farther for a day of dolphin fishing. Along the way, passengers are educated about the tackle, fishing methods, angling techniques and what to expect during their fishing experience.
Some of the sport fish caught aboard the Challenger, such as sailfish and marlin, are photographed and tagged for further study, and then released. Other species, such as snapper, grouper and dolphin, or mahi-mahi, can be taken to many of the local restaurants and prepared as a personal “catch of the day.”
